The area Virgin River Canyon Recreation Area has spectacular rock formation scenery.

The North Rim offers a serene and enthralling Grand Canyon experience. It is more remote and less developed than the South Rim, and so it attracts far fewer tourists. Many people think its viewpoints are the most spectacular,

Bright Angel Point, the most popular viewpoint on the North Rim, is accessed from a steep,paved trail which begins nearGrand Canyon Lodge. Just a quarter-mile from the lodge area, it is often the first scenic viewpoint that visitors experienceafter their arrival atthe North Rim.

National Forests remained open at all times during the virus with a televised invitation by the Director for families to visit them as safe places for family recreation, making our mining claims some of the safest places for your family to enjoy and get away from all the nonsense.

Another good sign for our claims here are the other experienced prospectors who have claims in the area before us.

Large, extended washes run thru the claim being good places for gold deposits.

The washes on the claim are a great advantage for prospecting, especially when the summer rains run down the wash, then depositing gold flakes down from the mountains, buttes, and rock formations.

Up the mountain ridge on the claim is a good area to explore for gems with your rock hammer.

Besides gold, this is also a great place to hunt for specimen rocks and other gemstones as agate, turquoise, quartz, crystals, and amethyst are often found in this geological region.

Arrowheads and relics are also found in this area and date back to the Paiute Tribe.

Arizona is one of the best states in the United States for finding gemstones in the wild. Gemstones can be found all across the state of Arizona, and over eight main types of rocks and minerals can be collected there. Arizona is an incredible place to rockhound, not just because of its diversity of native gemstones but also because of its beautiful natural landscapes.

Rockhounding is more than just a hobby; it is a lifestyle. Arizona is a fantastic place to find rocks, minerals, and crystals that can be displayed in a collection, made into jewelry, or sold to local jewelry and rock and mineral stores. There are also a variety of Arizona-based rock and gem shows that you can attend or even sell your own specimens.

LITTLE BLACK MOUNTAIN PETROGLYPH SITE

The site contains some outstanding rock art, representing 6,000 years of human habitation and use. The site has over 500 individual rock-art designs and elements on the cliffs and boulders surrounding the base of a 500-foot mesa. The different designs are associated with the cultures of the Great Basin, Western Anasazi and Lower Colorado River, only a few of the many cultures that have passed this way. Some of the representations of turtles, lizards and bear paws may be symbols with social or religious meanings that are now lost to us.

TOWN OF LITTLEFIELD

Living in Littlefield, AZ can be a wonderful experience. The town is small and quaint, with plenty of wide-open spaces to explore. It's close enough to Las Vegas that residents can easily take advantage of all the city has to offer without having to live right in the hustle and bustle. There are also plenty of outdoor activities available nearby, such as hiking, camping and kayaking. Littlefield is a peaceful place where one can appreciate nature and enjoy a simpler way of life.

Littlefield is in the Northwestern corner of Mohave County and the NW corner of Arizona.

Grand Canyon National Park is less than 2 hours away.

It is bordered North by the community of Beaver Dam and SW 10 miles is Mesquite, Nevada.

Las Vegas is 90 miles SW and NE is the Virgin River Gorge leading to Zion National Park only an hour away.

TOWN OF ST. GEORGE UTAH

St. George is a city in southwestern Utah. Nearby Snow Canyon State Park offers trails, dunes and red sandstone cliffs. Sand Hollow State Park features a large reservoir. Stately 19th-century buildings such as the Pioneer Courthouse and Brigham Young Winter Home dot downtown. The St. George Art Museum houses historical photos and work by regional artists. Zion National Park, with canyons and streams, lies northeast.

GRAND CANYON NATIONAL PARK

Offering rim to rim hiking, mule rides, and whitewater rafting, Grand Canyon National Park is a hugely popular national park destination.

Grand Canyon National Park encompasses canyons, river tributaries, and surrounding grounds. The Grand Canyon is situated in Arizona's northwestern quadrant.

The Grand Canyon had a long and arduous road to becoming a national park, beginning in the 1880s with several failed congressional bills. After making multiple visits to the area, Theodore Roosevelt declared the Grand Canyon a National Monument in 1908. The bill to grant national park status to the area was passed in 1919 and signed by then-President Woodrow Wilson.

ZION NATIONAL PARK

Utahs first national Park, Zion offers hiking, camping, backpacking, climbing, and more, making it a popular summer vacation spot for families and adventurers.

Situated in the southwestern corner of Utah near the Nevada and Arizona borders, Zion National Park is a convenient stop for those visiting Salt Lake City, Las Vegas or Grand Canyon National Park. Accessible from State Route 9 or Interstate 15, Zion offers visitors a variety of activities across several geographic regions. It started out as Mukuntuweap National Monument in 1909, but was granted national park status by the U.S. Congress in 1919.

The highlight of Zion National Park is an expansive canyon. Averaging 2,000 feet deep, Zion Canyon offers hiking opportunities along its floor in the 20 to 30 foot wide area known as The Narrows and the challenging area known as The Subway. Swimming is also permitted in this area of the Virgin River.

Other spectacular features of Zion include natural rock arches. Two of the most prominent are the Crawford and Kolob. One thousand feet above the canyon floor, Crawford Arch can be seen from the patio of the park's Human History Museum. Kolob Arch is visible by those hiking within the area of the park's Kolob Canyon. Other stone arches at Zion include Double Pine, Jughandle, Chinle Trail, and Hidden Arch.

VIRGIN RIVER CANYON RECREATION AREA

The Virgin River Canyon Recreation Area provides many recreational opportunities for hiking, wildlife viewing, water play, and more. It is surrounded by two designated wilderness areas: the Paiute Wilderness east of Interstate 15, and Beaver Dam Mountains Wilderness to the west. The Sullivan Canyon Trail starts within the recreation area and heads into the heart of the Paiute Willderness.

The campground and day-use areas also both have scenic trails leading to the Virgin River. The Virgin River is occassionally runable to small whitewater boats during spring runoffs.

Additional opportunities for recreation are available outside of the recreation area. A short drive on the Cedar Pocket Road (directly across the interstate from the campground) leads to the Cedar Pocket Wash Trailhead. This trail leads down a steep path to the narrows of the Cedar Pocket Wash and is a nice short stroll through a Joshua Tree forest. The Virgin River Gorge is also frequented by rock climbers and canyoneers.

PAIUTE WILDERNESS

This wilderness area consists of the Piute Mountains and the surrounding bajadas and extensive flat aprons of alluvium. The elevations within the Wilderness range from 2,000 to 4,132 feet. The Piute Mountains exhibit strong color contrast and texture that vary from very angular, jagged volcanics to rounded, smooth granite hills; and the ridges are cut by numerous canyons and washes. Dominant vegetation is typical of much of the Mojave Desert, consisting of creosote bush scrub, which gradually changes into a mixed desert scrub at higher elevations. The dry washes are characterized by catclaw acacia, smoketree, cheesebush, desert lavender, little-leaf ratany, and desert almond. Wildlife is also typical for the Mojave Desert; including coyote, black-tailed jackrabbits, ground squirrels, kangaroo rats, quail, roadrunners, rattlesnakes, and several species of lizards. The area provides transient ranges for mule deer and bighorn sheep, as the Piute Mountains are too small and too sparsely watered to accommodate permanent populations. Prairie falcon eyries are known to exist within the Wilderness area. The large bajadas provide excellent habitat for the threatened desert tortoise; the entire wilderness area has been identified as critical habitat for the desert tortoise.

LAKE MEAD, NEVADA

Swim, boat, hike, cycle, camp and fish at Americas first and largest national recreation area. With striking landscapes and brilliant blue waters, this year-round playground spreads across 1.5 million acres of mountains, canyons, valleys and two vast lakes. See the Hoover Dam from the waters of Lake Mead or Lake Mohave, or find solitude in one of the park's nine wilderness areas

If within one year you are not satisfied with your claim, you can trade for another comparable claim, just paying the BLM and County transfer fees which will be about $125.

This is a 20 acre unpatented, gold and gem placer mining claim, the Grand County Gold #2.

The claim is legally registered with the Arizona Bureau of Land Management and the Mohave County Recorder. You own the mineral rights, not sharing with others, on the 20 acres, and use your 20 acres, recreationally for camping: tent, camper, or RV, and prospecting, with beautiful views of nearby mountain ranges and rock formations.

Location Monument is a 4 foot wood post that has been placed, with an attached copy of our Location Notice, as required by the Arizona BLM.

For the possibility of constructing any building you or others could live in, you need to file a Plan of Operation with the BLM for approval, showing you have developed a full-time operation performing diligent mining, though the BLM is reluctant to approve anything to live in.

You do not need a plan, permission nor a permit to camp and prospect.

You do not need to be a full time prospector to file a Plan for a shed type structure.

With an approved BLM Plan of Operation, a building can be built on the land: any building that benefits and improves the claim, though is not likely anything to live in will be approved.

As stated by the BLM, this can be the "construction of a building, road, fence, or enclosure necessary for mining."

Current usage, is what the BLM calls, Casual Use: panning, shovel, rock hammer, metal detector, creek powered sluice box, where no permission nor permit is needed to camp and prospect.

You can prospect as little or as much as you like.

Now that we have located the claim, you never have to declare to the BLM any gold or gems you find.

On our trips to the claim, we found about 1/8 of an ounce of gold in and around the extended wash on the claim, value approx. $225. Those with more time to prospect may find more. Today's gold prices are over $1900/ounce.

Though we could never guarantee what you will find, we did locate this claim in an historically rich area for gold prospecting.

We also found some nice specimens of crystals, fire agate, turquoise, and amethyst.

I know of no more accessible areas in these mountains to locate a claim, as the whole area is claimed up, many being long time prospectors.

Gold prices have gone up $400 per ounce in the past few years.

You are allowed to post No Trespassing for Prospecting signs in and around the claim.

A mining claim owner may limit or restrict public recreational use of/or public access across claims or portions of claims that are actively used for prospecting, mining, or processing operations where public recreational use of a claim would endanger or materially interfere with legitimate mining pursuits.

Your 20 acres is the East 1/2 of the NW 1/4 of the NW 1/4 of Section 15, Township 40N, Range 15W, G&SR Meridian, known as the Grand County Gold #2 mining claim, located in Mohave County, Arizona.

This claim is in a very mineralized area, and is great for rock hounds, metal detecting, relic hunting, and dry-washing. Many historical gold rich producing mines are in this area.

Our claim is in the Kaibab National Forest. At 1.6 million acres theKaibab National Forest borders both the north and south rims of theGrand Canyon, in north-centralArizona.

Hikers, backpackers, wildlife observers and photographers will find many recreation opportunities here. Rugged topography furnishes the solitude and secluded experience treasured by many wilderness visitors.

A transfer of ownership is a sale of legal, exclusive ownership of a mining claim site. To be a legally recorded claim, gold had to be found on the claim, which was completed by us, as we are the original claim locators.

Your ownership is legally conveyed via a Quit Claim deed, and legally recorded with the BLM and Mohave County. A Quit Claim deed is the required legal document per the BLM.

Each year, on or before September 1st, you need to file a simple form with the Bureau of Land Management, along with $165. We will supply this form to you. You can also pay online with the BLM by credit card

An unpatented mining claim is a specific parcel of federal land, valuable for a specific mineral deposit or deposits. It is a parcel for which an individual has asserted a legal right of possession and the right to develop and extract a discovered, valuable, mineral deposit. Mining claims are real property that you can buy, sell, or inherit. After proving the existence of valuable minerals on the land, the claim is legally recorded with the Bureau of Land Management, and Pinal county.

Gold always occurs in gravels in the metallic state and when so found has various physical characteristics. Gold is dense and heavy, it has a characteristic metallic color, and it is soft and easily malleable (it is easily formed by hammering). These are the characteristics used by prospectors to identify gold in the field. Placer gold occurs on the claim as small grains derived from gossan formed by weathering, and oxidation of the gold, copper and iron rich veins. Gold also occurs as grains flakes and small nuggets derived from the erosion of mineralized fault zones.
