Located within Historic Waterford, Sunnyside is a historic home in need of substantial restoration. Built in 1848 by John Dutton and the location where the Waterford News was written during the Civil War. The Waterford News was smuggled out of Waterford to Baltimore where it was published. At least one of these publications is in the Library of Congress as part of President Abraham Lincoln's papers. Sunnyside was remodeled in 1997 with modern electric, plumbing, and 2-zone HVAC with duct work, along with a substantial addition to the rear of the home. This 5 bedroom 3 1/2 bath home features two fireplaces and a 3rd gas log fireplace in one of two main level bedrooms that each have on-suite full bathrooms. Waterford Historic District is a registered National Historic Landmark.
