Location: The ranch is 8 miles NW of Eldorado, the county seat of Schleicher County, Texas, on CR 412. Eldorado is 43 miles S of San Angelo on US 277. There is a paved airport at Eldorado, 7 miles from the ranch. In 2010, San Angelo was dedicated as one of 12 Preserve America Communities in the nation by the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
Terrain: Eldorado Lodge is on the Divide between the Concho and Devils River watersheds, west of Eldorado, Texas. The ranch features a large draw running through the middle. It is Mesquite and Prickly Pear country with an excellent turf of native grasses. The property is rectangular, frontage on two county roads, and is a fully-operational ranching operation, currently running registered Beefmaster cattle.

Water: The ranch has three good wells, equipped, with a static water level of approximately 270 feet. There are four dirt tanks, all of which can be pumped into from wells. The fertile land in this area has been drilled for shallow irrigation water. It is becoming unusual to find a ranch with minerals and water being conveyed.
Recreation: The native Whitetail herd has been intensively managed and upgraded genetically for approximately 10 years. The largest trophy in the 2010-2011 season scored 184 B&C! The ranch has a Texas Parks and wildlife MLD Level III permit, which gives an extended Whitetail season from Oct.-Feb. hunting from exotics, had enabled the owners to develop such a successful business, also accommodating bow hunters. The ranch has a TP&WD Scientific Breeder Permit, allowing the owners to raise Whitetails in pens. There are 14 pens with a total of 96, a variable number of Whitetail Deer in the pens. There are commanding premium prices for bred does and bucks to stock ranches and improve genetics. The property features Blackbuck Antelope, Axis Deer and Fallow Deer. In addition, there are 36 species of exotics available, which are popular with out-of-state hunters. The ranch also has dove and turkey.
