The Cale Caney Creek tract (Listing # 4184) is a diverse tract offering uplands, bottomlands and Caney Creek. The tract is located approximately one mile east of the Cale community in Nevada County and contains 57 acres of 1985 pine plantation, 12 acres of 1991 pine plantation, and 55 acres of hardwoods. The terrain is generally rolling. Soils are fine sandy loams and silt loams with high site index for loblolly pine and oak. A third party inventory suggests the following timber volumes: 1,837 tons Pine Sawtimber; 823 tons Pine ChipNSaw; 448 tons Pine Pulpwood; 1,903 tons Hardwood Sawtimber and 2,147 tons Hardwood Pulpwood.
