The Brewery Gulch Inn is a contemporary lodge that commands an ocean view blufftop one mile south of the town of Mendocino. Embracing the Arts & Crafts style, this redwood masterpiece was built in 2001 from sinker logs that were eco-salvaged from the nearby Big River. A landmark water tower greets guests as they arrive at the property. Winding their way past ponds and forested grounds, visitors reach the Inns porte cochere and pass through a massive redwood door. Inside, acid-washed floors reminiscent of old leather, an iconic steel and glass fireplace and two pairs of thirteen-foot French doors framing postcard views of Smugglers Cove confirm the impression of Robb Reports editors when they called the Brewery Gulch Inn, the worlds most exquisite tree house.

The Inns 10 individual rooms, all facing Smugglers Cove, and its two-room suite, overlooking a sylvan meadow, are all tastefully furnished with local art. Many of the larger rooms feature furnishings hand-crafted by world-renowned Mendocino woodworkers. Extensively remodeled in 2008/9, the current owners have continuously updated both the aesthetics and the infrastructure of this showcase property.
