hunting ranch offering world class elk and trophy mule deer hunting.
The ranch is located in Grant County, Oregon midway between Burns

exceptional improvements. Buck Mountain Ranch consists of 4960+/-
contiguous deeded acres together with a USFS grazing permit of
approximately 2604 +/- contiguous acres on the Malheur National
Forest.
Buck Mountain ranch offers all of Eastern Oregon's finest. It has
incredible privacy, unbelievable scenery, superb hunting and excellent
grazing. Water abounds everywhere on the Buck Mountain Ranch.
There are over 20 springs and miles of live water creeks. Many of the
springs are developed with troughs or ponds to supplement livestock
and wildlife. All irrigation water is free water. It flows out of
mountain creeks and is diverted i...
mountain creeks and is diverted into ditches to be spread across the
meadows. The water rights on the ranch are excellent with some of
them having a priority date as early as 1886. There are around 450
acres of irrigated and sub-irrigated meadows on the Buck Mountain
ranch. There are meadows everywhere. Livestock do very well in the
lush, high elevation, irrigated pastures. The ranch has 247 +/- acres of
water rights on Lewis Creek, 36 +/- on Officer's Creek, 1.6 on Johnnies
Creek, and 64 +/- acres of water rights on Antelope Creek. In addtion
to all of the water mentioned above, the ranch also has several ponds
which offer great fishing opportunities for native trout.
In addition to the 4960 +/- acres of deeded ground, there is also a nice
USFS grazing permit adjacent to the ranch. The Lewis Creek on/off
permit is a 2600 +/- acre private permit that allows you to graze in the
spring or fall. The location is excellent as it allows for you to trail
cattle to and from it. No cattle have to be put on a truck.
The 6780 sq. ft. lodge style main home sits in a stand of pine trees
above a private open meadow. The house includes 3 bedrooms, all
with full bathrooms, 2 half baths, a finished basement, river rock
fireplaces, extensive cherry cabinetry, granite countertops, a sunroom,
a greenhouse, three fireplaces, a lofted office and master bedroom, a
library, 2000 sq. ft. of decks and a three-car garage. The home is
located 2 miles down a very private driveway where you can enjoy
your surroundings with no interruptions. This house simply has to be
seen to fully appreciate it!
Buck Mountain Ranch offers world class elk hunting and trophy mule
deer hunting as well. The ranch sits in the Murderer's Creek hunting
unit which is very well known in Oregon for producing record book
bulls and bucks. As a testament to it's quality, in 2009 a bull was killed
on Buck Mountain that grossed 380. One of the top 5 bulls of all time
killed in Oregon with a bow. There have been multiple bulls killed in
the 310 350 class, and even a few in the 350 plus range. The mule
deer opportunities are exceptional as well. You can plan on seeing lots
of bucks, and should be able to consistently harvest bucks in the 170
200 class. Try to find another ranch on the market in Oregon that can
run with that! In addition to elk and deer, there are also antelope,
black bear, mountain lion, bobcat, chukkars, grouse and turkey's on
the property.
