Tract Description and Location: The Little Fabular Slough Tract is located approximately 5
miles southwest of the town of Strong, Arkansas and about 3 miles south of Highway 82. The
property is described as the SW ¼ of the NE ¼ of Section 9, Township 19 South, Range 13
West, Union County, Arkansas.
Timber Description: The timber on the tract consists of a well stocked 4 Year Old Pine
Plantation, established in 2006. In October of 2005, the site was sprayed with 128 oz of OneStep
to control hardwood species and prepare the site for planting. The site was planted in February
of 2006 with improved loblolly pine seedlings, followed by an herbaceous weed control spray in
April of 2006 with 4 oz of Arsenal and 2.25 oz of Oust Extra to control grasses through the first
year of growth. Presently, the site is well stocked with pines that are approximately 10-15 feet in
height...
height, with very little competition from other species and great opportunity for long term timber
growth. The property also offers good hunting and recreation opportunities. Deer and turkey
hunting are possible on the tract, along with small game opportunities.
The topography on the property is gently rolling with Warnock, Smithdale, Sacul & Sawyer soils
which are predominantly a sandy loam and silt loam composition, with a reported site
productivity of 86-90 feet (base age 50) per the NRCS Web Soil Survey.
