ROCK RIVER RANCH Rock River, Albany County, Wyoming: Located northwest of Laramie, Wyoming at the foot of the Snowy Range mountains, the Rock River Ranch consists of 56,273 contiguous acres of which 40,354 are deeded with the remaining 15,919 acres being BLM lease ground. The ranch is easily accessible off State Highway 13, US Highway 30, and well-maintained county roads. Ample water is provided by 26 windmills, 15 wells with submersible pumps, nine solar wells, over 14 miles of underground pipeline, 35 reservoirs, ten water pits, and Cooper and Dutton Creeks along with the main canal for the Wheatland Irrigation District which runs through the ranch. Livestock do not have to travel more than a quarter mile to water and the Rock River Ranch has been developed over the years to maximize the convenience and efficiency of the yearling cattle operation. The ranch is cross-fenced into 22 pastures. Historically the owners have pastured approximately 5,500 head of yearling cattle during the summer months. Predominate grasses found on the ranch are blue grama, prairie cordgrass, prairie sandreed and Indian rice grass.
