The Shoe has an incredible lodge perched hundreds of feet above the cascading waters of the Tallapoosa River. The views of white topped waves of water rolling over the granite outcropping can be seen and heard from the rocking chairs of the screened porch. The three beds, two bath lodge comes fully furnished, and has an abundance of character, and rustic charm. That rustic charm permeates all aspects of the lodge. Hand-hewn, seasoned logs are exposed on the inside and outside of the dwelling. Those logs having been repurposed from a century old tobacco barn in the hills of North Carolina. Rising majestically from the floor of the living space is a towering 23 ft natural rock fireplace. Large barn beams extend throughout the living space. A newly designed kitchen with granite counter tops, custom cabinetry, and new appliances gives a modern balance to the heart pine floors and ceilings. From the circle drive, a large, covered porch welcomes you into the mudroom and hunting lockers off the kitchen.

Game

Deer and turkey roam in abundance. Throughout the expanse of the property, a multitude of green spaces are strategically placed along ridge tops and bottomland areas. A recent addition of a newly completed 15 +/- acre lake will, once filled to full pool, provide yet another valued asset to the Shoes resume. The Mule Shoe Bend also has a 1 acre duck pond resting on the southern banks of Laney Creek. Wood ducks, Mallards, and Teel frequent this watering hole during the fall and winter months. Also, several wild quail coveys can be flushed along the green fields edge and their calls heard drifting among the towering loblolly pines. The Shoe is covered with natural mast producing trees as well as thousands of planted game trees. Sawtooth oaks, pears, plums, Arkansas Black apple, Common persimmon, Japanese persimmon, and Chinese Chestnut trees dot the landscape. Muscadine and scuppernong vines, kiwi plants, and blueberry bushes are also in abundance.

The Shoe is 795 +/- acre with an additional 440 +/- acres to its South under lease. The leased property adds miles of river frontage and more hunting opportunities for the land owner.
