Here is another Allamakee hotspot in the French Creek area. The 84 acres is a nice mix of timbered valleys and 50 CSR tillable that is currently in CRP. The tract is part of a larger farm that has been owned by this family since 1935. Giant whitetails have been as much a part of this farm's history as the crops and trees grown here. Many world class animals have lived in this prime habitat. Multiple drop tines, clustered flyer points and giant world class typicals are all represented in this area's gene pool. The tract lies at the East end of the French Creek Valley where it meets the wide open Ag flats. Deer love being in these areas naturally for the quick access to food and also when pressured off the state land to the South. There are several slam dunk food plot set ups here, and the CRP acres provide decent income that also has row crop potential if put back into production.
