Normal mortality rate estimates there are 300-350 trees per acre today, grossing approximately 5,000 trees growing yearly that need some pruning and possibly fertilization. Black Walnut Trees are not only sought after for fine furniture but are in demand for fine spindles, gun stocks, etc. The key is to keep them straight, let them grow, prune branches and sell as the market demands.
