The Gaston Tract is located approximately 1 1/2 miles southeast of Hermitage and about 1/2 mile north of Bradley County Road 52. The tract is accessed from the south by a gravel road off of Bradley County Road 52 (gate combo: 5-1-0-7). The gravel road crosses the adjoining owner and touches the southeast corner of the tract. The topography is rolling with Bibb and Myatt silt loam soils on the upland portion of the tract, with an average site index for loblolly pine of 85 feet (Base Age 50), based on the NCSS web soil survey. The bottomland soils are Ocklockonee fine sandy loam. The tract has some areas of Saffell gravely sandy loam, presenting opportunity for gravel potential.
The timber consists of a well stocked stand of high quality pine sawtimber with a small component of hardwood sawtimber and pulpwood products.
