LODGE AND AMENITIES: The main lodge is approximately 11,000 square feet with a magnificent trophy room and bar, living room, commercial kitchen, and pool. It was originally constructed in the 1980s and remodeled in 2005-2006. One wing of the lodge is setup with 4 king-size bedrooms, each decorated in their own hunting or fishing theme. This wing also has two full bathrooms to be used by the guests in the 4 bedrooms. There is also private wing on the bottom floor with a master bedroom, two full baths, and Two large walk-in closets. The upstairs portion of the lodge has a large living room and 3 dorm-style rooms off it. Each of those rooms has multiple beds in it capable of sleeping 6 to 10 guests each. Each upstairs room has its own full bath as well. The lodge also features an outside wing to host guests! This wing features 2 separate bedrooms, each with its own full bath. The outside wing and one of the dorm style rooms were built in 2013. The terrain is soft-slightly rolling terrain with large stands of native oak varieties as well as large areas of Bermuda hay pasture.
WILDLIFE: The low-fence portion of the ranch features all your main native species to east Texas such as furbearers, whitetail deer, wild hogs, wintering waterfowl, and a variety of small game. The low fence whitetails have even been harvested in the 140+ inch range. The high-fenced portion of the ranch has trophy class whitetail with the largest ever taken scoring approx. 213! The owner harvests approximately 5 to 13 Whitetail bucks a year depending on the field study numbers. He believes there are around 100 whitetails living within the high-fence. There are also trophy axis bucks on the ranch, which has approximately 50 axis deer in total. Usually 6 to 7 axis bucks can be harvested a year. According to the owner, there are at least 60 Blackbuck Antelope within the high-fence as well. Wild hogs are typically captured and released within the high-fence several times a year to keep numbers up for the paying customer hog hunters. Otherwise, population of the wild hogs could easily be controlled or completely eradicated within the high fence.
WATER: There are numerous drainages and small creeks throughout the property, with Caney Creek serving as the western boundary for a portion of the property. There are 3 ponds in the high-fenced area, and the owner believes them to be spring fed because their water levels do not fluctuate with the rainfall. There are 4 ponds on the low-fenced portion of the property, two of which are good sized, including the pond behind the house and lodge.
