Not many minutes away is El Vado Reservoir and the Chama River, both renowned for trophy brown trout fishing, and the quaint mountain town of Chama, home to the spectacular Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad and many shops. The cultural centers of Santa Fe is about two hours south, and world-class downhill skiing happens at Taos, about a 90-minute drive.
