Early Texas Hill Country Settlers found the transition zone between Bandera and Hondo, as an appealing, secluded and productive backdrop for raising their family and ranching. The Degrodt family was no exception. Rich with history, this home was originally constructed in 1903 by Bernard Degrodt. Degrodt was a resident of Quihi, TX and decided to construct a home to raise his four daughters and two sons. Degrodt bought land in 1901 along Verde Creek and raised sheep and goats. After his passing in 1957, the property fell into disrepair and was largely abandoned.

Take SH-173 South to CR-251 (Left). Continue South on CR-251 for approximately 4.4 miles. Property will be on your Right before crossing over Verde Creek.

From Hondo:

Take SH-173 North to CR-3421 (Right). Continue to CR-251 and turn Left. Travel approximately 7.6 miles. Property will be on your Left just after crossing over Verde Creek.
