The specific soil types are Mawer fine sandy Loam, Altvan Loam, and Savo silty clay Loam, which are considered some of the most highly desirable in the area. The cropping history has been a corn alfalfa rotation with recent corn production in the 200 bushel range and alfalfa around 6+/- ton per acre. Approximately 77 acres of the cropland (subject to pivot irrigation) is planted, in 2014 and 2015, to Roundup Ready alfalfa and approx. 22 acres are planted to orchard grass and oats.
