A great hunting parcel is hard to find especially when you can hunt multiple species. As an added bonus, this property is geographically split with a north portion that has a series of food plots and a box blind and the south portion has a potential building site overlooking a beautiful wetland. Clayton township tends to be a wetter area of Polk County and this area tends to have a nice mix of wetland, farmland, and timber. One notable government program to check into that may apply to this property is the Wetland Reserve Programs or WRP. I have listed a similar property just to the north that was entered into this program. I found some restrictions on use, but the land was very well suited for hunting. In the enrollment portion, the owner was provided a payment to enter into the program. Furthermore, the work to return the land to the wetland was mostly or all paid for with grant money. This is a real opportunity to take an environmentally sensitive area and return it back to the wetland and get a financial payout to do so. So, be sure to look into this or similar programs. I will be looking into this possibility so be sure to call me and we can discuss the possibilities!
