Appraised at $690,000, the project's boundaries grew in scope as multiple stakeholders attempted to influence the acquisition. Eventually, the project ended due to a lack of funding despite the County's willingness to contribute a significant amount of preservation funds. With an improved economic outlook, it is anticipated that the State and other conservation organizations will have a renewed interest.
With 1/2 mile of frontage on County Road 181 in addition to Natural Bridge Road and Punch Bowl Road traversing the property, access is excellent. Moreover, the white sand beaches of the Emerald Coast are only 50 miles away.
