The owners have been selling their produce at the Ithaca Farmer's Market since 1987, their stall at the market has always been an inviting display of an array of vegetables, fruits and plants and has become a mainstay of this market and enjoys an excellent reputation. The farm's produce has become synonymous with high quality. The produce is also sold through two food co-ops, at several area restaurants and through a winter CSA share program. The owners are highly respected growers in the region, completely committed to sustaining the earth's soil and always willing to share all that they know to other aspiring organic growers.
The farm consists of 160 acres approximately 62 are tillable, 15 of which are utilized with the permanent bed system. There are approximately 83 acres of woodlands and the balance is residual. There are two ponds on the farm used for irrigation. The crops are irrigated with a buried system to provide water during critical growth periods if rain has not been sufficient. All the crop fields are surrounded by 8 ft. high, high strength plastic fencing (Tenax) to help control deer and wildlife damage. The bottom edge of the fence has an added vinyl coated poultry netting for controlling woodchucks and rabbits. The two together have been extremely effective at minimizing crop damage.
The structures on the farm include a 2,128 sq. ft. two story home, detached garage with a two bedroom apartment on the second floor, a gambrel roofed barn, pole barn, two three-sided storage sheds, indoor and outdoor production and wash area, four walk-in coolers, solar panels and pump house.
