Prospect Island is a short 45-minute car ride to the heart of downtown Charleston. Located in South Carolinas ACE Basin, the island is a little slice of history. For those who may not know, the basin is drained by three major river systems: Ashepoo, Combahee, and the South Edisto; hence the name ACE Basin. With over 27 years of land conservation under its belt, the ACE Basin Project now protects over 217,000 acres of South Carolinas beautiful Coastal Plain. Some properties were collected by entities such as Ducks Unlimited, while others were put under conservation easements by their private owners. Whatever path was taken, this project has preserved an integral piece of South Carolina and has provided an unprecedented habitat for its natural wildlife.
Anyone who knows ACE Basin duck hunting will tell you that most of its duck population winters in this area. Prospect Island consists of approximately 100 acres of duck impoundments that are currently planted in corn and is a must see for all that are looking for a prime duck hunting location. Everything that is needed to manage the property is included in the sale-two John Deere tractors with attachments and a John Deere gator are just a few of the items.
Improvements included in the sale are a generator powered cabin that sleeps four, a 40- foot floating dock and pier head for a 35-foot barge, and a 21-foot skiff boat designed to carry you and your guests to and from the landing. The skiff boat is also fitted to carry small equipment and ATVs. A complete list of equipment included in sale is available upon request.
Prospect Island is currently privately owned and enjoyed by all who visit. It would also be an ideal location for a corporate retreat or a joint ownership club such as Block Island.
