With two-tenths of a mile of frontage on Emmit Brown Road, SI109 is only three miles south of Mendenhall, MS and six miles north of Magee, MS. Nearly eight acres of the property are situated on the west side of the road with the remainder on the east side. Utilities in this area are provided by Southern Pine Electric Power Association and Smiths Crossing Rural Water Association.

This state-maintained fishing lake is approximately 10 minutes east of SI109 on US Highway 49. It is stocked with large mouth bass, crappie, bream, and catfish. Amenities include boat ramp, handicap accessible fishing piers, 11 developed camping sites with electrical/water hookups, primitive camping, restrooms with showers, pavilion rental, picnic tables, and barbeque grills. Current usage fees are $5 per person for fishing only and $9 to launch a boat and fish. State of Mississippi fishing license is required for all people 16 years of age and older. Boats are also required to be registered with the state.
