One thing that “stuck out” when walking property was the amount of deer and turkey sign that was seen here. The southern part of the property has ideal deer habitat with a mix of high areas and low areas, brushy and grassy areas, tamarack trees, and some cattails. There were several trails heading into the low area from the high ground. It was very evident that it was a favored place for bucks. There is a very nice, well groomed, trail system on the property, a food plot close to the center of the property, and a nice natural pond on the northeast corner of the property. There were numerous heavily used game trails on the property. Several game trails were found on the north end by the pond, but most of the game trails were found along the transition area between the high ground and low ground. This is a unique property with several areas to set up for a whitetail hunt. There are huge red pine, white oaks, and maple on the north end, and tamaracks, brush, grass and cattails on the southern end. There are several places to hang your stand on the northern end and you could put a tri-pod stand or a box blind in the low area to the south. The property has produced a lot of nice whitetails over time. Turkeys and black bear have also been hunted here. If you like to go boating or fishing, there are numerous lakes in the area. For fishing, Typo Lake offers good numbers of black crappie and walleye. There is a concrete DNR boat ramp and parking on the southern end of the lake which is about 3.5 miles from the property. The lake is managed for walleyes with 295,000 Fry stocked every other year. Several other area lakes offer fishing, hunting and boating opportunities. The property is close to all the amenities offered by city living, which means you could have the best of both worlds. You could experience country living at its finest and be in the city in minutes. It's a great place to get away from it all yet still be close to the city and everything it offers.
