Just 2.5 hours from St. Louis or 2 hours from Memphis in the heart of the best duck hunting in SE Missouri, the Bootheel Hunt Club offers a unique opportunity to hunt ducks, deer and turkey on a 789 acre turn-key property. This perfectly balanced and wildly diverse WRP complex is located just 8 miles from Ten Mile Pond and two miles from the legendary Eagle's Nest. Over the last five years, the Bootheel Hunt Club has been strategically pieced together and meticulously developed to become one of the most attractive turn-key waterfowl hunting properties in Southeast Missouri. The farm has been aggressively managed to maximize the utilization of the landscape and potential benefit for wildlife. The Bootheel Hunt Club lies along the St. Johns Bayou in the infamous 'Gee Bottoms' just a few miles west of Ten Mile Pond Conservation Area. Waterfowl have used the 8000 acres of wetlands and agricultural fields in the Gee Bottoms as a feeding and roosting site for decades and is one of those areas the birds are naturally drawn to.
The West Side consists of 465 acres of wetlands and mature bottomland hardwood forest. 20+ acres of food plots have been strategically placed along bottlenecks and adjacent to dense security cover to help feed the tremendous amount of deer and turkey on the farm. While touring the property we saw half a dozen gobblers and several groups of deer. Three 6'x6' Redneck Blinds on 15' stands overlook the farm with an additional 12 ladder stands on-site. This property has four different access points to assist in playing the wind and entering the property undetected. In addition to the great deer and turkey hunting opportunities, the farm is also set up to provide some exceptional duck hunting opportunities. High-volume wells come with a turbine, power unit and fuel tank to flood three different wetland units which total approximately 80 acres. A new levee system has been built to add an additional 80 acres of flooded timber. Several secluded timber holes provide some exceptional hunting opportunities.
The 324 acre East Side of the Bootheel Hunt Club has been relentlessly developed to maximize the water holding capability and moist-soil production of each of the pools. Two high-volume wells were strategically placed to push water to four different hunting pools. The farm has a total of five low-profile, 5'x5'x24' pit blinds with double dog boxes and shell boxes for storage. The extensive moist soil management has led to excellent production of early successional plant communities. Wild millet, barnyard grass and Pennsylvania smartweed will produce well over 2000 pounds of food per acre annually. Compliment this with some annual food plots and you will have a buffet line the birds won't be able to resist.
The Bootheel Hunt Club has two, one acre locations (one on each side) carved out of WRP to provide a place to build a lodge, each with a breath-taking view. This property has the size, diversity and location to form a club or a commercial outfitter. Nearly all of the development has already been completed, this property is ready to hunt this fall. Properties like the Bootheel Hunt Club don't come along often, this property is priced to sell, don't miss your chance.
