Southlake Farm is located just off I-77 in Huntersville, a premier Lake Norman town and suburb of Charlotte. Twenty minutes to downtown Charlotte and the Charlotte Douglas International Airport ensure you can draw a variety of clientele, including business professionals, from most any location. A brick column gated entrance and paved circular drive and parking invite you to join in the activities, lessons and sale activities occurring on this beautiful, well maintained and designed farm. The focal point of the main barn is the central core where business transactions, operations and student relaxation occur. A tile foyer welcomes you and gives you access to either the owners office or trainer/caretaker office, a large kitchen and dining room, comfortable lounge and restrooms. The lounge is an ideal place to view sale horse videos or watch and learn from competition videos. Two laundry rooms and multiple storage rooms allow blankets, towels and pads to be washed and stored. The second floor is just waiting for you to finish as another lounge, event space or apartment. The French doors leading to the balcony make this ideal for any of these uses.

Designed to accommodate one or two trainers, the main barn has two identical wings with 16 stalls each. Classic Equine 12 x 12 stalls offer sliding grate doors with fold down yokes allowing horses to enjoy the aisle way activity. A 14 concrete aisle way accommodates this design, allowing you to walk horses safely while avoiding nipping horses. Exterior Dutch doors are also an excellent way to move horses to & from paddocks without interfering with interior activities or work. Horses can stay engaged and pass the time in the stalls, since these stalls overlook the covered arena. Stalls have stall mats, industrial ceiling fans, corner bucket holders, blanket bars and name plates. Each wing has five grooming stalls, two wash stalls, an oversize tack room, feed room, tool room and large end shavings and hay storage. Hay and Shavings are protected and accessed through the 14 foot roll up doors. The barn can also be closed up during cool winter months with the roll up aisle way end and side doors. The cinderblock construction along with multiple doors and Dutch doors ensure you have good ventilation and a cool environment when needed.

While the main barn is the show barn, the lesson barn is also set up to safely and comfortably accommodate lesson, sale or show horses. The ten stalls have a variety of sizes, some 10x10, ideal for ponies and some as big as 10 x 20 ideal for brood mares or warmbloods. These stalls also offer stall mats, ceiling fans and Dutch doors. Four covered grooming/wash stalls overlook the lighted 375 x 390 sand arena.

This large outdoor arena is often divided into two separate arenas accommodating two different riding disciplines simultaneously. The 100 x 225 Steel framed covered arena will accommodate any discipline safely. The wool, fiberglass and sand footings were supplied and installed by the same source as those provided at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center. A buried water catchment system provides much of the water used to irrigate the arena utilizing a timed irrigation system.

Young or overly energetic horses can be worked or trained in the lighted round pen prior to mounting and riding in one of the two arenas.
