Stagecoach Stop

The Stagecoach Stop, located 30 minutes west of San Antonio on County Road 251 in Medina County, offers a rare chance to own a piece of Hill Country history. The 2.9 acre tract, which features 360 feet on year-round Verde Creek, is the site of the New Fountain Stagecoach stop.

In 1868, Captain Frederick Metzger and his wife Louise, established the stop which grew into a hotel to serve stage passengers traveling between San Antonio and El Paso. Today, a two-story western-style home encompassing 2,900 square feet marks the spot. The interior of the structure has been razed and offers a blank canvas for the new owners vision.

The Stagecoach Stop is rare. Not many places combine live water, historical significance and easy access to urban Texas in a compact package. Dont let the opportunity pass you by.
