Taos Rio Grande Norte National Monument

I'm developing a 480 acre parcel which is available for sale in 10 acre or 40 acre lots. I suppose we could do a larger piece. I've titled this area "Tierra del Oro Mistico" (or "Land of Mystic Gold"). This is based on the "Old Taos Highway" running through the property and it used to be a travel route for the Conquistadors who mined gold out of the nearby Sangre de Cristo Mountains and they would sometimes bury their gold along the way as to avoid being robbed. So, if you buy a parcel of land in Mistico and discover gold on it we expect you to share it with the other land holders in Mistico. And the mystic part you'll get after you spend some time living in the shadow of Taos Mountain and all that that metaphysically implies. Directions

You can take US 64 north-west out of Taos (from what we still call the "Blinking Light"even though it hasn't blinked for a few decades) and go out over the big Rio Grande Bridge, towards Tres Piedras. Once over the bridge continue on US-64 for apx. 5-6 miles. You'll go past the Greater World Earthship Colony on the right, and then past the Double D Ranch entrance on the right and less than a mile after that the highway takes a 45 degree turn to the NW and just before that on the right you'll see a big sign next to the entrance to Tierra del Oro Mistico. At that point you can go through our gate and travel through the entire 480 acres of Mistico and at about two miles you'll come to another gate which is the end of our property and you'll come out on County Road B-007 just above the Dunn Bridge. If you hang a right there you can go down the switch back into the bottom of the gorge at the Dunn Bridge. It's a very dramatic recreational area where the river rafter's launch their day long rafting trips through the Rio Grande Box which comes out in Pilar, NM. If you continue out across the Dunn Bridge you'll come out at Arroyo Hondo.
