The Welch Tract is a very unique, 150 acre property with all kinds of potential! Located on Highway 2 a few miles east of Fort Davis, AL in the Armstrong Community of Macon County, this tract is a short drive from Auburn and Montgomery. The hunting is really good in this area of the Blackbelt and there is no doubt this tract will produce some nice deer. While looking at this tract I saw several deer moving through the woods and the sage fields. This is not your typical planted pine with a hardwood drain tract commonly seen in Alabama these days. The Welch Tract is predominantly open land consisting of about 75 acres in row crop production, a 30 acre pecan orchard, 15-20 acres in mature hardwood and the balance is in old hayfields/open land. The old hayfields are now grown up now in native grasses/sage and are great bedding areas for deer and other wildlife. There is some really nice mature hardwood in the drain that dissects the tract from east to west. This would be an awesome spot for an early season bowhunt! There are two food plots currently on the tract, one is rather large and the landowner says it is common to see 25-30 deer in an afternoon hunt. Both food plots have nice shooting houses already on them. If you like to dove hunt, there are multiple places to plant a great dove field. Access is good over the whole tract...I was able to drive my truck everywhere with no problems. Power is on site and there are some great cabin/home sites as well.

This is really a nice tract with multiple uses including recreation, top notch hunting and also income production from the row crop land and hayfields.
