Located northeast of Blandinsville is this well-diversified hunting property that has a little bit of everything to offer. The property has blacktop frontage all along the eastern side of the property with a beautiful building site for a home or cabin. The property has two main blocks of timber, each of which serves as primary bedding areas. The southern block of timber is primarily mixed hardwood timber with rolling topography and has some extremely thick bedding areas with two ridge tops overlooking the creek bottom. Laharpe Creek runs through the eastern section of the property and provides a year-round water source for wildlife. The property has 9.7 acres of CRP, which is divided up into several different fields along the northern border of the property. There is good access all along the northern property line allowing access to the western side of the property. When walking the property, it was amazing the variety of habitats and how much they changed throughout the property. While the eastern timber is mixed hardwood, the western section of timber is primarily a large walnut grove, which has been managed for timber production and is due for another timber harvest in the next 7-8 years. This section of timber has worn out deer trails running through it and has severed as a primary bedding area on the western section. Every time I go through this timber I’ve bumped multiple deer out of their beds. The neighbor along the north line has several acres in alfalfa production and the worn out trails leading out to this field confirm this as being a primary food source for the deer. When looking at an aerial photo one might question the access to the back part of the property, but I assure you once you get boots on the ground, you’ll see the entire farm is easily accessible.
