History:
Scofield Town is in Carbon County, Utah. Often associated with the well know Mining Disaster of the 1900s. Pleasant Valley Coal Companys Winter Quarters Mine. Scofield lies in the bituminous coal field of Carbon County and is nestled among the hills that surround upper Pleasant Valley. Scofield Town is situated along Mud Creek, just south of Scofield Reservoir. Price River is the outlet for the reservoir, flowing Southeast to the Green River and is thus part of the Colorado River Basin.
